What work is and what it should be
Among the spirituality in my life I do want to make the change in the workforce of the many and the education of the many.
I see that work is defined by the long hours and the pay cheque to survive, instead of what it should be - which is pure joy and enjoyment of the heart, even if you were only a cleaner!
I can tell you now that one of the best jobs that I ever had was being a cleaner. It was soul fulfilling to talk to grateful customers who were often very educated. My team leader was fabulous and made sure we are not overworked. In a word, not only did I like cleaning when I took the job, and felt proud doing it since my grandmother finished her work life by being a cleaner; it was a combination of me loving what I did and the people around me loving what they did and in turn making a good job of it.
How do i get there?
John Holland has made some good bullet points in his book Power of the Soul, on how to find what you love and do it for a living. It works as a questionnaire with yourself to speak to your very core and just being honest with yourself.
1. What am I passionate about?
2. What did I enjoy doing as a child?
3. What did I imagine at a young age that I wanted to be when I grew up?
4. Have other people noticed or commented on what I'm good at?
5. Is there a hobby that I take pleasure in?
6. How could I make a career out of what I love doing?
7. What am I engaged in when time seems to just fly by?
8. What do I enjoy reading in my spare time?
9. What kind of people would I like to be around me?
10. What can I do right now to take a step closer to doing what I love?
I would normally use these type of questions as a starting ground for any direction for career guidance.
I also run a website that allows for one to one booking of in person sessions and purchase of guidance videos that are career specific.
I am not using Phoenix Spiritiuality & Emotional Wisdom as a platform for advertising my services per se. Although, my coaching skills are in extension to what I already believe in as an individual and am further passionate about.
